All of us at Veolia Environmental Services would like to thank you for choosing our service. Veolia ES was awarded the exclusive collection contract for the residential refuse, recycling, and yard waste.
Please find the following details regarding our service offering:
All items for pickup need to be out by 6:30 AM
TRASH – Each resident is offered a choice, set up by the City of Oak Park Heights at 651-439-4439 (www.cityofoakparkheights.com). The choices include a 35, 65, or 95 gallon refuse cart, serviced weekly on Thursdays.
Appliances and other large items are collected at no additional charge; however, residents must contact Veolia Environmental Services at 651-459-3029 at least three days prior to the next curbside pickup date. Typical items that are collected at no charge are:
Collection and disposal of miscellaneous "construction material" such as wood, plaster, sheetrock, windows, doors, and paneling that is not placed in the specified trash container will be charged a separate collection fee. If waste items cannot fit in the specified trash container but can fit into a 30-gallon plastic bag, residents may place the bag(s) next to the trash container on regular pick-up day. The resident will be charged $1.50 per bag. Such bags may not be overfilled so they break from basic handling by the garbage hauler. Please remember that no hazardous waste (such as batteries, fluorescent light bulbs, oil based paints, etc. are thrown in the trash).
RECYCLING – Oak Park Heights has curbside recycling every other week on Thursdays. Each household is provided a 95 gallon single sort recycle cart. The cart has a dark green body with a red lid. Your recycle week is the “B week” (red week) on the calendar.
Recycling is very important to the city of Oak Park Heights. Please consider making recycling a priority in your household and contribute to the city’s cost savings.
COMPOST & BRUSH – The compost collection season runs April 1 through November 30. There is no charge to the residents. All yard waste must be bagged in biodegradable bags. All brush must be bundled in manageable three-foot lengths, and no more than 4” in diameter. Brush is collected with our compost route on your regular service day.
HOLIDAY TREES – Pick up will occur on the days of January 12th and 19th, 2012. Please make sure that your trees are free of lights, decorations, and tinsel and that your tree is placed at the curb at least 5 feet away from other objects.
IMPORTANT ITEMS TO NOTE: Veolia ES will bill each resident for the Washington County Solid Waste Tax on a quarterly basis. This does need to be paid by each resident or will be applied to your property taxes.
