Our History

Veolia Environmental Services is among the largest solid waste management organizations in North America. We provide a broad variety of services to over 170,000 commercial and industrial firms and more than 1,600,000 residences in 12 states, the Bahamas and Canada. Veolia ES operates 49 collection facilities and 26 solid waste sanitary landfill facilities in the United States. We work in partnership with local communities to preserve valuable resources and broaden landfill capacity by focusing on waste reduction, curbside collection and the processing and marketing of recyclable materials.

Veolia is the only waste company that specializes in all aspects of solid and liquid, hazardous and non hazardous waste management for both local industry and government. Active in every phase of waste disposal, Veolia collects, sorts, transfers, and treats waste before its final recovery.

By tailoring its services to local needs, Veolia’s approach to waste management has made it an international leader in the hazardous waste management sector, both in terms of size and technology.

The four divisions of Veolia Environmental Services North America that provide solid waste, technical solutions, industrial and waste-to-energy services, have been brought together under our shared corporate name, Veolia Environmental Services (Veolia ES). Our parent company, Veolia Environment, has worked hard to establish this worldwide brand. The decision to operate globally under a single brand name reflects the guarantee of our expertise and know-how to manage both services and resources in the waste and environmental industries.
